It’s not uncommon for first time customers to step into the store and immediately be impressed (and often surprised) by how lovely everything looks. If you also knew the donation team makes between 32 and 40 pickups each week – and started to grasp exactly how much furniture needs to be arranged – you’d be blown away.
This photos above show our amazing design team – the powerhouses who create beauty and order from an overwhelming array of furniture and styles. From left to right, starting with the back row, we have: Connie, Debby and Marsha and then front row: Debbie, Anne and Madge. Many of these faces should look familiar to you because they also volunteer in the store (and Connie and Anne have been a part of Jubilee Furniture since its inception in the fall/winter of 2005!). You also might see Debbie at our Discoveries Resale Shop in Warrenville.
I’m so grateful for the hard work each week of these women. Not only do they all have a wonderful design sense but are often required to move the furniture themselves. Both an eye for creating beautiful vignettes and the muscle to move the furniture into place! Love it!
And what furniture did they have to work with this week, you ask. What follows is some of our current inventory and you’ll find even more photos at our Furniture Gallery.
this is a gorgeous empire style oval wooden coffee table – priced $145
beautiful metal base tables: entry or sofa half moon table is $75; two matching round side tables are $55 each. The glass has a lovely deep bevel and all the pieces are in excellent condition!
What follows is an amazing donation we recently received of both reproduction furniture (furniture made in an imitation or copy of a past style – definition found here) made in the 1960s and genuine antiques. All have gorgeous marble tops and are in excellent condition.
We are most fortunate to have several volunteers who are incredibly knowledgeable about both antiques and antique reproduction furniture (as in 50 years of working with antiques and one volunteer owned an antique store!). Our prices are far below anything you’ll find in an antique store.
The detail in these pieces is incredible – though almost impossible to see in these photos (sorry!) – and the marble on each is unique and, truly, like a piece of art. Though I’m not normally drawn to this style of furniture I’m thinking how incredible one piece would look in my house.
Though we’re grateful to all our donors, the breadth – both of quality and quantity – of this particular donation is far beyond anything we’ve seen before.
(Note: some of these pieces are still in our warehouse area – so if you don’t see something you’re interested in on the showroom floor, please ask if it’s been sold or simply in the back)
two identical (though the marble will vary) reproduction round marble pedestal side tables – $95 each
gorgeous reproduction round marble top coffee table – truly amazing – priced $250

beautiful antique three drawer marble top dresser for $395
another lovely three drawer antique dresser with marble top (note: there must have been a mirror with this piece at one time – but there isn’t one now and there are four small holes in the marble where the mirror would have been placed). Priced $325
love the dark marble on this antique commode – priced $295
this is probably my favorite – a stunning 42” round marble top antique pedestal table on wheels – priced $645. The marble is unbelievably gorgeous!
rectangular antique marble top table (love the blunt corners) priced $245
round antique marble top side table (note chip in the marble) – priced $240

though the caning is ripped on both of these chairs – I adore the green velvet seats, the overall shape of these chairs and the small wheels on the front two legs! And at $8 a chair – you can go crazy with pillows or throws to cover the rips! Ha!
there’s something about this SmitheCraft sofa for $125 (in wonderful condition!) that I LOVE
oversized square leather ottoman for $125 in great condition
lovely floral Craftmaster sofa in very good condition for $125

lovely coral or salmon color, down-filled sofa – note fading along the bottom – priced $65
really lovely mahogany one piece china cabinet (not sure why I only took one picture of it!). Priced $325. For some reason I think this piece would look incredible filled with books
Pier 1 white-washed wicker with wood accents – seven drawer dresser for $95; mirror (laying on top of the dresser) for $25; armoire for $85. All in excellent condition
yep, the veneer is peeling off in many places and the finish has seen better days. BUT the interior is cedar, made by Lane and COULD be amazing with some TLC. Priced $35
One last shout-out to our FANTASTIC design team! And thanks too, dear reader, to you for being a part of the wonderfulness of Jubilee Furniture!
Next week I’ll show you an updated photo of me with very short hair that I’ve let go gray. Not sure if that sounds interesting or a bit like a threat! Ha!
